My Kids Wanted To Do A Funny Internet Marketing Video

Hey Marcus,

Cute video with your kids and wife but unfortunately that’s one of the problems when you work at home. I know you were only doing it as a joke but when you get rocking and rolling that will change.

I know it’s really nice working from home and not answering to a boss but believe me there are days around here when there’s so much commotion that I can’t seem to get anything done. There are times when I wish I had an office away from my house so I could just be left alone.

When I’m working on a deadline or if I’m writing some code that needs my utmost attention I get distracted very easily. I use to have people stopping by any time during the day or getting phone calls all day long but I have taken care of that now. It’s taken two years but now they realize this is a business and I need to be left alone.

Hopefully as time goes on I can work less and make more and then I won’t mind the interruptions as much.

Hey Marcus,

Love the new header.
I know the feeling with the children, I have 3 girls only 2 of them of age to distract me at the moment but I’m sure as my littlest one is just finding her feet she will be much the same that’s why I find I get most of my work done in the evening when they are finaly asleep.

Take it easy and hope all is going well, looks like it’s going in the right direction for you.

you REALLY should find a quiet place where you can focus

so you distance – the WORK to the family life,

remember we work online for more time with the family

sometimes – we get sucked into working around the clock

when that happens – take time away – and re-focus what
your goals and tasks are,

again – well done … im excited to see more from you

Hey Marcus, had to come check out the vid after Alex J mentioned it on Monday’s coaching call. Just took me four days to get to it. Loved the video buddy. You have an awesome family.

I agree with the others though that working from home is the dream but it can be part of the problem with all the distractions. I have four spots I hit that have free WIFI. I get more done their in four hours than at home. The coffee shop. Starbucks doesn’t offer free WIFI so I go to a local one. Panera (franchise sandwich place over here), the public library, and the gym. Love that one. I can work for a few hours than go get a work out in.

Yes, another Passey! You know we could be related, from way, way, way back. I remember doing some family history a long time ago and the Passey’s tracked back to somewhere in Europe. Of course I don’t recall the details. I do remember my Grandpa showing me something about my great, great, great, great grandfathers, sisters, brother in law was related to Shakespeare. (It was something like that anyhow) So if we’re related, Shakespeare may be in your history too!

Great video, funny too. I read some pretty funny comments too! Your kids are great! I don’t have any kids, but my dog brings me her ball every 5 minutes and if I don’t throw it she’ll bark at me. I have yet to conquer videos. Getting my first posts written were first on my list. I actually need to get a video camera. Any suggestions?

Thanks for dropping by my blog, that video was funny some days I cant get a thing done I mean it’s murder around here I got three daughters twins that are 5 and the baby is 4 guess what their only 10 months apart so for almost 2 months their all the same age and let me tell you when they start it’s very hard to shut them off I’ve been doing a little better lately since joining the class I try to get work done without surfing the net but even that’s hard, but better. Great Video.

Marcus, the very end of the video “cracked me up”. Perhaps Alex J will hire them!

Visually and architecturally great blog with content to equal. As to the video, my youngest is now 23 and couldn’t be bribed or cajoled into such behaviour.

I am extremely judgmental in only one regard => if a person doesn’t have a sense of humour, I want nothing to do with them!!!

BTW, when you missed having lunch with Rich Schefren, guess where he was? [My deepest apologies, I should have called you.]
